Time for another round of Fit Friday Fun!

So tell me, how was your week?

Can you believe we are in the last week of February already?! I can’t but I can tell you I am sooooo glad we are. I am so done with this grose, hot humidity. Bring on Autumn baby!

At the end of every month Ill try to give you a little recap and brief run down/heads up on what I’m doing, eating, drinking, wearing, planning, loving all in the spirit of fit friday fun sound good?

So without further ado, lets get on with it.

What I’m eating –

Now that I’m all healed up and recovered from that oh so glamorous fall down the stairs a few months ago I am finally able to kick up my training with those heavy weights again and I am loving it. I’ve only been back into it for a couple of weeks now and holy post workout hunger fitfam! Seriously I can not tell you how hungry I am. Especially focusing on the lower body, larger muscle groups get the heart rate up and metabolism firing I tell you that! So to be honest I kinda want to eat all of the food. I mean you can’t grow the muscle if you don’t eat the food right?!

So here’s what I’m loving lately –

Breakfast – Oh how I love breakfast! Can not get enough of these simple, healthy homemade, all natural vanilla spiked protein waffles! Stack em’ high and add some strawberries, banana, a big ol’ dollop of Greek Yoghurt and a drizzle of maple syrup. Post workout refuel at it’s finest people!

These protein enriched low carb tortilla wraps from Empower foods. They are incredible! Soft and easy to roll which I love. Nothing worse then a crumbly tortilla that just falls apart when you try to wrap/roll your lunch am I right?

Mostly I’m still digging this simple Avocado salad wrap. It’s quick, easy and super yummy but these tortilla wraps make awesome oven bakes tortilla chips and a killer lazy girls (or guys) protein enriched pizza base. #justsayin

As far as snacks go I still can’t go past my beloved apple and PB combo. Seriously, the happiest of snacks ever and for me its the perfect combination of protein, carbs and healthy fats. Plus it’s just all kinds of delicious!

And I can’t stop with the Cookies and Cream Quest Bars. The more I eat the more I love ♥ Have you had Quest bars yet? What are your thoughts? Love em’ hate em’? Whats your favourite flavour?

What I’m drinking –

This maple vanilla latte smoothie, you guys have you made it yet? I can not get enough.

On my heavy lifting days I add in a scoop of this Vanilla Ice Cream flavoured Gold Standard Whey Protein Powder by Optimum Nutrition.

I am crazy in love with this Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey protein powder. It is seriously delicious and doesn’t have any adverse effects (think bloating, upset stomach and all that seriously unpleasant stuff) that many others seem to have. And so many flavours to choose from!

We order ours through Mr Supplement, its by far the best deal we have found for it and I would say it’s worth every penny. If you are looking for a good quality protein powder without any weird ingredients that does the trick and tastes ah-mazing then I can not recommend this Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey highly enough.

What I’m Wearing –

Spunky husband just got me a pair of these Nike Air Max Tailwind 6 for V-day and they are so comfy!

Great support, really light weight and they breathe so well (no sweaty feet in these bad boys thats fo’ sure)

What I’m Reading –

Remember me telling  you that this year one  of my main health/fitness goals was to build me some buns of steel so I figure who better to help me get there than the Glue Guy himself – Bret Contreras. So I invested in his book, Strong Curves. So much helpful info and it’s written in a way that is easy to understand which I just love.

Let me tell you, this guy knows his stuff, He has spent hours (years) researching and testing and re-researching and re-testing what exercises are most efficient and effective to building those booths and I can tell you, 3 weeks in I’m feeling it!

It’s a 12 week program so when all is done and dusted I may even share my results with you.

What I’m doing –

I just finished our 20 day Squat Challenge, woah talk about feel the burn baby! Proud to say I got through it and am feeling strong. How did you go? Are you done yet? Love it? Hate it? Tell me

And for an extra burn if I’m feeling crazy (which I often am) this killer Plank Challenge shared by the ah-mazing Steph over at Steph’s bite by bite.

Tuesday30 min walk and  yoga/ extended stretch

*For my Australian friends who are interested I have been ordering my PB2 and Quest Protein Bars (among many other things) from Iherb.com they have great prices on all their products, shipping included. And can I just say have to be one of if not the most efficient company I have ever dealt with in all my years of ordering online. Order placed, picked, packed and received in my hot little hand in less than a week allllll the way from the other side of the world. Seriously in love with Iherb right now. And if you want to order and haven’t done so before use this code –BUY123 – to get yourself $5-$10 off your order.
