What. A. Day!

If you follow along with me on Instagram you will know that we just moved house!

Thankfully we didn’t have to move far, just a short 5 min drive from our old apartment so we were able to do a few short trips over the weekend but today was the big day!

Talk about a killer workout.

I am soooooooo exhausted!

Everything aches.

Especially my hands and fingers. Is that weird? Probably . . . oh wells what are you gonna do? If it hurts, it hurts right?!

Thankfully we are in and unpacked – holla go team us!!!!!

So, now that we are all done and I have finally stopped for the first time in a week and a half I am sooooooo hungry!

Seriously starving!

As I mentioned last week when I get in the zone ain’t no stopping me I just gotta get in and get it done you know? But the problem with this is I may get so caught up in the task at hand that I forget to eat. Not even kidding, sweet sister of mine knows me so well that throughout the day today she randomly sent me friendly little reminders to stop and go eat something. Yes really. OH me?!

So here I am all unpacked, exhausted and starving hungry . . . I can’t be bothered to cook, or call for take out because well that would mean I have to get up and answer the door, plus I don’t have any cash on me so there is really only one thing to do . . . smoothies!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know I love me a good smoothie.

Not only is this smoothie all natural, all kinds of delicious and quick and easy to prepare, it also packs a whopping 13 grams of protein per serve!

It’s the perfect way to get a full belly, pack in a bunch of protein, vitamins, fibre and all that good stuff without having to bother with all that chopping. or cooking. or chewing! I’d call that a win!

And after the day (or week) I’ve had I totally needed some chocolate.

So, an all natural, ice cold, extra thick, super creamy chocolate cherry smoothie saves the day!

Ummm you guys . . . this smoothie . . . oh my deliciousness (even if I do say so myself)!

Ice cold, extra thick, super creamy and all natural I mean what’s not to love? Plus it’s chocolate and chocolate = winning, every. single. time. Then when you add in those sweet little cherries . . . so good I can’t even stand it!

As always I used my trusty old, pre-frozen banana as the base, this is the trick to making a super creamy, naturally sweet smoothie. It’s where the magic happens. Even though we use banana as the base to our smoothie, this smoothie doesn’t taste bananaish at all.

Trust me. All chocolate, all cherry all day long! To our banana base we simply  throw in some greek yoghurt, a splash of milk, some good quality cocoa powder, a dash of vanilla and of course those sweet little cherries. Boomshakalocka, done!

This smoothie would make a super healthy breakfast on the go. Um chocolate for breakfast, yes please (and you’re welcome :))

A Perfect mid morning or late afternoon treat, totally guilt free.

A perfect pre/post workout (aka moving house) power up.

A perfect way to end your day.

All natural, ice cold, thick and creamy, protein packed chocolate cherry smoothie, what’s not to love?

Make it, drink it, love it!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I think Ima go pass out.

Chocolate Cherry Smoothie
Makes 1 very large or 2 small all natural, creamy, dreamy chocolate, cherry infused smoothies

Ingredients –

1/3 cup Greek yoghurt

1/4 cup milk of choice

1/3 cup of cherries, roughly chopped with seeds removed

1/2 an overripe banana (preferably pre-frozen)

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1 Tablespoon of cocoa powder (I use Hershey’s Special Dark)

1/2-1 cup of ice depending on how icy you like your smoothies

Optional –

Shaved chocolate chips to sprinkle over the top

Method –

1 – Place all ingredients into a blender and process until smooth and creamy.

2 – To serve, pour into a chilled glass or mason jar and sprinkle with your shaved chocolate chips if using.
