I don’t know about you but sometimes I just need a burger.

Yes need!

Nothing else will do. Must be a burger.

Today my friend is one of those days!

Maybe it’s because of the sweet, chocolatey, hot cross bun filled weekend of indulgence that we just had. Maybe it’s because my iron is low, maybe it’s just because sometimes . . . I just need me a big ol’ burger.

I don’t really care about the reason, I just care about sharing this killer burger with you guys!

Ah-mazing!!!!

Juicy, succulent and ready in minutes. Oh and this bad boy . . . totally heathy! Seriously, what’s not to love?!

This week our test it out tuesday recipe is from love of my life Jamie Oliver and his 15 minute meals cookbook. Do you have it? You need it! Like yesterday! Seriosuly what are you waiting for? It’s Genius my friend, pure genius!

I honestly don’t think there is a single recipe I have not drooled over and longed to make . . . like instantly . . . and then I get distracted. It happens sometimes . . . I can’t help it . . . I attempt to do a million ten things at once . . . like make coffee, and breakfast, and do my make up, and straighten/curl my hair . . . yes all at one time . . . I should not really be left alone . . . or trusted in the kitchen . . . or with anything hot . . . or sharp . . .

. . . but this burger . . . will keep your full attention. You will day dream about it when your done and long for another. Seriously addicting. Seriously delicious. Seriously healthy and seriously simple to make. Just a handful of ingredients and your on your way to burger town. MmmMMM burger town

Jamie provides this incredible (also super healthy) sauce to go on our burgers. Greek yoghurt and worcestershire sauce. Sounds scary I know but one taste and you will be hooked. It’s tangy, salty and creamy and like nothing I have ever tasted before. I can’t quite explain it . . . all I can do is tell you that it’s out of this world delicious and you need it in your life.

Like today!

Feel free to add any burger fixings you fancy, next time I will without a doubt be adding avocado but otherwise, in this case less is totally more. Oh and we have also had these low carb style, wrapped in a lettuce leaf instead of on a burger bun. Totally awesome! You know if your into that kinda thing. Even if your not. Make it. Eat it. Love it.

Get yourself on the flavor train, next stop – Burger Town ♥

British Burgers
Slightly adapted and re-written in my own words from Jamie’s 15 minute meals Cookbook
Makes 4 burgers or 6-8 mini sliders

Ingredients –

500g lean mince (I used extra lean pork mince)

1 heaping teaspoon of wholegrain mustard

A dash of worcestershire sauce (one for the burgers and one for the sauce)

4-8 wholewheat rolls (or 6-8 dinner/slider rolls)

2 Tablespoons of plain greek yoghurt (I always, always use Chobani)

1 ripe tomato, sliced

Ketchup/tomato sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional for serving –

Sliced cheese

lettuce/spinach leaves

Method –

1 – Place mince in a medium bowl and season generously with salt and pepper.

2 – Add mustard along with a dash or worcestershire sauce and using a fork or your hands squish the mixture until well combined.

3 – Divide the mince mix into 4-8 even portions and shape into burger patties. Set aside.

4 – In a small bowl spoon greek yoghurt and add a dash of worcestershire sauce. Gently stir and marble together.

5 – In a medium frypan/skillet over medium-high heat cook the burgers until crispy, golden and slightly caramelised. Try to only turn them once if you can.

6 – Slice your rolls in half and toast either under the grill or in your toasted until toasty warm and deliciously crunchy.

7 – To the top half of each roll add a good squeeze of ketchup followed by a heaping dollop of your greek yoghurt/worcestershire mix.

8 – To the bottom half of your roll layer cheese and lettuce if using and top with a slice (or 2 ) or tomato.

9 – Place your burger patty onto of the tomato and squish the sauce covered lid on.

10 – Dig in!

MmmmMMMmm burgerlicious!
