So I thought I would try something a little different . . . A little Fit Friday Fun if you will.

You see, health and fitness is a huge part of my life.

I just love it.

Some of you may or may not know that I am actually a certified personal trainer.

Yes really!

Anyways, because health and fitness is such a huge passion of mine and well so is this little blog I thought why not include a little fit friday fun.

I love reading along with Ashton’s Skinny Saturday reports over at Something Swanky and Steph’s Get Fit Mama updates over at Steph’s Bite by Bite so I thought why not share a little of my own fit friday fun.

Are you in?

Here is what I’m thinking . . . I’ll start out just sharing my workout schedule for the coming week, over time Ill share things like workouts, how-to’s on some exercises, product reviews, things I’m loving, using, eating and some extra healthy recipes etc sound good?

So today Ill share my current fave pre/post workout fuel and my workout plan for next week.

I try to get my pre-workout snack in an hour before I get my workout on that way I know I’ll have a nice little energy boost right when I need it. Nothing worse than getting half way through your workout only to find yourself weak with hungry am I right or am I right? Seriously, not cool – Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Now, if you follow along on Instagram you will already know my current pre-workout snack time addiction is a cold crisp royal gala apple all sliced up and dipped in some peanut butter (or PB2 when I have it). For me it’s the perfect balance of protein, fats and carbohydrate which is what you want your pre-workout snack to be.

The nutritional breakdown for this snack would be (approx using my fitness pal) –

1 x gala apple with 3 x Tablespoons of PB2 ** =

Total calories – 123

Protein – 8

Carbs – 22

Fat – 2

Fiber – 6

1 x gala apple with 1 heaping tablespoon of Kraft all natural crunchy peanut butter =

Total calories – 145

Protein – 4

Carbs – 18

Fat – 7

Fiber – 4

If you’re into counting calories I would personally try to keep this snack to around 200 calories, just so it’s not to heavy so I feel overly stuffed or weighed down in my workout. again . . . ain’t nobody got time for that!

I usually pop one or 2 of these Healthy No bake cookie dough bites too –

Total calories – 21

After I’ve finished getting my sweat on I like to take take full advantage of this metabolic boost and refuel and replenish my body with a good nutritious little snack.

Usually I make myself a healthy, protein packed shake/smoothie my current fave is this killer green smoothie

Total calories for a full serve of this recipe straight up (approx using my fitness pal) – 158

Protein – 12

Carbs – 17

Fat – 1

Fiber – 2

After a heavy lift  I would add a scoop of protein powder for an extra boost.

And without further ado . . . my workout schedule for this coming week will be –

Monday – Weights – Total Body

Tuesday – 30 min walk, 40 min yoga class

Wednesday – REST

Thursday – Weights – Total Body with some High intensity interval training (HIIT)

Friday – 40 min yoga class

Saturday – Weights – Total Body

Sunday – REST

I should also mention a little about my health and fitness goals, at the moment I am working on . . .  I kinda wanna say bulking but that sounds a little full on and kinda scary . . . my plan is to gain some size by building some extra lean muscle mass, which is why you don’t see a great deal of cardio listed. Also I prefer to do my resistance training working my full body, with heavy weights working major muscle groups. This is not for everyone of course we are all very (beautifully) different and this is just what works best for me. So there you have it . . .
