The first week of january has been and gone can you believe it?

How were your new years celebrations?

What did you do?

Me?!

I may have fallen asleep on the couch around 1030pm . . . I am such a rock star (←clearly not haha)

Did you make a new years resolution?

I didn’t, well not really.

I know I plan to eat better, train harder, be kinder to myself and most importantly try to live more presently, focused in each precious, blessed moment I have to share with my adorable little family.

What about you?

I know many of us, after the over indulgent holiday season, tend to make a new years resolution to clean up our eating in one way or another. Insert vow to give up soda/sugar/crisps/desserts/mindless snacking/guilty pleasure of choice here.

I don’t know about you but as soon as I say “as of today I am no longer eating sweets” all I can think of is eating the sweets. And its torture I tell you torture! I prefer to find a way to fit the occasional treat into every day life, I mean life is way to short to go without treats right?

And if you find yourself in a situation where you may have indulged a little more than you should, don’t beat yourself up about it we’ve all been there. As the ever encouraging and always inspirational Chalene Johnson would say, “move more and move on” – Amen sister!

However . . . today’s test it out tuesday recipe will have all those decadent, sweet, chocolatey cravings satisfied, totally guilt free. This recipe was originally shared by none other than the one and only dessert queen, sweet, sweet Ashton who blogs over at Something Swanky .

Not only is this seriously indulgent, decadent, treat insanely delicious, it’s also super quick to put together, all natural and packed with protein.

Say hello to my new fave post workout snack.

Healthy, Protein Packed Brownie Batter Dip!

Yes sir-ee you read that right!

Healthy, Protein Packed and brownie batter all in the same sentence.

I kid you not!

Thick, rich, creamy, decadent chocolate deliciousness that is actually good for you.

Honestly I was a leetle skeptical about how brownie batter like this would taste. I mean . . . guilt free, tasty, brownie batter?! . . .come on now are you kidding me?! But I trust Ashton and I know girlfriend has done her research. After all she does promise not to post a “skinny” dessert recipe unless it actually tastes like dessert and let me tell you, this healthy, protein packed brownie batter dip totally does taste like total indulgence!

All you need is a small tub of your fave Greek yoghurt, a sprinkling of cocoa powder, a splash of vanilla and  a drizzle of maple syrup and thats pretty much it! I added a little stevia for some extra sweetness but you could sub with regular or brown sugar or even a little extra vanilla and maple syrup if you prefer.

This “dip” is all kinds of incredible just as it is, all on its own but it really is incredible as Ashton intends it to be, as a dip. Strawberries, bananas, sliced apples, pretzels your only limited by your imagination. It’s just so, so good. Smooth and creamy, perfectly sweet and seriously chocolatey I mean how can you go wrong?

And because this protein packed brownie batter is all kinds of healthy feel free to sprinkle on a little extra dark chocolate, you know just to boost those good ol’ antioxidants.

I may or may not have eaten the first tub straight up all on its own. My plan was just to have a little taste you know to make sure the flavours were right and well  . . . next thing I knew all I had was an empty tub?! Awkward.

16 grams of protein packed, intensely chocolately guilt free deliciousness.

The perfect pre/post workout snack.

The perfect guilt free late afternoon pick me up.

The perfect way to satisfy those after dinner, late night cravings.

The only question is, how will you eat yours?

Healthy, Protein Packed Brownie Batter Dip – just yes!

Make it, eat it, love it – totally guilt free

Healthy, Protein Packed Brownie Batter Dip
Very slightly adapted from this recipe shared by the Ah-mazing Ashton of Something Swanky
Makes approx 1 cup of creamy, dreamy, protein packed guilt free chocolatey deliciousness

Ingredients –

1 x 6 oz (170g) tub of plain Greek yogurt (I use Chobani 0%)

2 teaspoons of cocoa powder* (I use Hershey’s special dark)

1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract*

1/2 teaspoon of maple syrup*

1 sachet of stevia* (could sub for one tsp of brown sugar or possibly additional maple syrup)

* More or less to taste

Method –

1 – Place all ingredients into a small bowl (or if your lazy like me, directly into your tub of yoghurt) and stir until well combine.

2 – Dive on in head first and eat your way out.

3 – This “dip” is all kinds of incredible on its own but its also ah-mazing when you dip in strawberries, apples, banana, pretzels . . . anything and everything.

Enjoy xoxo

Question of the day –

If there was one recipe/snack/drink/treat you could give a healthy make over to, what would it be?
