I love it when in a moment of almost desperation and panic you come across a scratch recipe that blows all of your pre-loved store bought favs right out of the water.

Thats what happened to me the second I tasted this delicious, decedent, serisouly indulgent yet oh so simple fudgey chocolate topping.

For reals!

Try it, you may never buy another jar of chocolate topping with your weekly groceries ever again!

Ingredients
Recipe from Scoop Adventures
Makes approx 2 cups

1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
6 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method –


In a medium saucepan pour sugar,

then corn syrup,

followed by water.

Next sift in your cocoa powder

give it a little whisk until combined.

Place saucepan over medium heat and whisk continually until you see it starting to bubble and simmer around the edges. Continue to whisk until boiling deliciously then let it cook for 1 minute more.

Remove from the heat and stir in vanilla.

Allow to cool slightly, then pour into an airtight container.

Store in the fridge until your ready to indulge (or store in the fridge up to 2 weeks . . . as if it would last the long ;))

Stir and pour over ice cream and thank your lucky stars you were out of your usual jar of chocolate topping because if it wasn’t for your neglect in buying a replacement jar you may never have come across this ah-mazing fudgey oh so chocolatey topping
