And I’m not just talking about how insanely delicious they are.

Although, I could go on about that for dayzzzzzz.

They literally taste like a cross between a big ol’ spoonful of nutella and those crisp and crunchy, dreamy, fudge filled, ferrero rochers!

But, taste aside, there is so much to love about these superfood fudge bites  . . .

Not only do they taste all kinds of amazing but, they are packed with protein and heart healthy fats, they are rich in antioxidants, high in calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron and fiber.

They are a natural anti-inflammatory.

They are great for stabilizing blood sugar, balancing hormones, enhancing mood, aid concentration and restoring energy levels (both mental and physical).

They are great for post work out recovery, great for gut health as well as the health of your hair, skin and nails- this has been a huge one for me!

Honestly, there is so much goodness packed in to one seriously chocolaty, deliciously fudgey, hazelnut infused bliss bite that I could go on and on (and on and on and on) but , the sooner I stop talking the sooner we can start eating, right?!

So, let’s get on with it shall we?!

As always our beloved bliss bites all natural made with no refined flours or sugars using just a handful of ingredients that I bet you have on hand already.

Almonds 👉 hazelnuts 👉 dates 👉 vanilla and 👉 a pinch of salt.

Then we add in our super hero superfoods 👉 matcha green tea powder 👉 maca and 👉collagen.

All of which are optional by the way. You could definitely make these fudge bites without the superfood ingredients and they would still be all kinds of delicious so, don’t feel like you need to go out and buy these things just to make these bad boys.

Although, speaking from personal experience, I can honestly say that I have felt and seen so many positive benefits by adding these things in to my daily routine. And those around me have seen it too. Just a little FYI.

Where was I . . .

All natural made with just a handful of ingredients that I bet you have on hand already, right.

They are naturally gluten free, dairy free, keto and paleo friendly (vegan friends just skip the collagen and feel free to sub in protein powder of choice).

They are super quick and easy to prepare coming together in a matter of minutes, simply  throw your ingredients into your food processor or blender and you’re ready to rock and roll baby!

And, although they are insanely delicious just as they are if you, like me, are wanting to add an extra crazy-cool, textural element to your new fave super-snack then I strongly suggest you roll them in some crisp, crunchy, deliciously nutty, finely shredded coconut flakes.

And you might want to give a couple an extra dusting of cacao because, extra antioxidant right?! 😘

Honestly, I am seriously obsessed with these chocolate hazelnut superfood fudge bites!

I love the way the earth tones of that magnificent matcha marries with the sweetness of those magical medjool dates, the richness of the cacao and the deliciously buttery, nuttiness of those glorious almonds and hazelnuts – they are soft, chewy, decadent, rich, sweet but not to sweet – edible perfection!

And would you just look at how fudgey they are?!

Dark Chocolate, Hazelnut Superfood Fudge Bites
{Vegan, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Refined Sugar Free & Paleo Friendly}
Makes approx 20 {bite size} all natural, quick and easy, decadent and rich, seriously chocolatey, superfood fudge bites!

Ingredients –

1/2 cup raw almonds

1/2 cup skinless hazelnuts*

3/4 cup medjool dates*

1 Tablespoon of cacao

1 teaspoon of maca powder

1 teaspoon of matcha green tea powder

2 scoops of  Vital proteins unflavored collagen peptides

1/2 teaspoon of instant espresso (optional – please not you can’t actually taste the espresso I find it just really helps to enhance and intensify the flavor of the chocolate/cacao)

1 teaspoon of vanilla (or 4-6 drops of vanilla cream stevia – I like to use Sweet Leaf Stevia )

A pinch of salt

Optional for serving –

Cacao

Finely shredded coconut flakes

Method –

1 – Optional but highly (HIGHLY) recommended – Place your almonds and hazelnuts on to a lined baking tray and roast at 175’C/350’F for 5-10 mins until lightly toasted, gloriously golden and deliciously fragrant.

2 – Once toasted, place almonds and hazelnuts into your food processor/blender and pulse until crumbly, you want there to still be a few bigger chunks to give the bites some nice texture.

3 – Add dates and process until the mixture starts to come together into a sticky, loose “dough”.

4 – Add cacao, maca, matcha, collagen and espresso (if using) along with your vanilla and salt then process again until combined.

5 – Using your hands, roll approx 1 small Tablespoons worth of dough into bite size balls then set aside
 – FYI – I like to make my bites on the smaller side. You would probably need 3 of mine to make up one of those golf ball size bites you buy at cafe’s or in stores.

6 – If you are going to coat your bliss bites in cacao, or crushed hazelnuts simply place your cacao, and/or coconut flakes into a small bowl or zip lock bag and gentle press/shake until nicely coated. Store in the fridge until ready to serve.

  • If you find your dates are a little dry you could try soaking them in some warm water for 10 mins before you begin, then drain and rinse and make as normal.
  • If you are unable to get skinless hazelnuts simply roast them on a separate tray and once they are roasted, place on a clean dry hand towel and fold it in half. Rub it gently between your hands and the skins should come loose. Once the hazelnuts have shed their skins, discard the skins and proceed with the recipe as normal.
