The perfect little decadent, rich, super fudgey, seriously chocolaty way to end your day.
I feel like I should mention that when I make my bliss bites I tend to make them way smaller than the ones you see in stores or cafes. I prefer to make them on the smaller side because I like being able to just pop one in my mouth on the down low so I don’t have to share I can go about my business. I would say you would probably need 3 of my bliss bites to make up the size of one of those store bought/cafe size bites. Feel free make them whatever size that tickles your fancy, just wanted to put that out there 🙂
Now, these chocolate almond and hazelnut bliss bites are all kinds of awesome just as they are but, if you want to jazz them up a little you could roll them in a little cacao,
or if you’re wanting to add an extra crazy-cool, textural element to your new fave super-snack then you could crush up a handful of those crisp and crunchy, subtly sweet, deliciously nutty hazelnuts to roll those seriously chocolaty, super fudgey blissful bites of deliciousness in . . .
Yes, yes, just yes!

Chocolate, Almond & Hazelnut Bliss Bites {Vegan, Gluten Free & Paleo Friendly}
Makes approx 20 all natural, quick and easy, rich and fudgey, healthy, homemade, chocolate, almond and hazelnut bites of blissful deliciousness.Ingredients –
1/2 cup raw almonds
1/2 cup skinless hazelnuts*
3/4 cup medjool dates*
1 Tablespoon of cacao
1/2 teaspoon of instant espresso (optional – please not you can’t actually taste the espresso I find it just really helps to enhance and intensify the flavor of the chocolate/cacao)
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
Optional for serving –
Cacao
Hazelnuts, crushed
Method –
1 – Place almonds and hazelnuts into your food processor/blender and pulse until crumbly, you want there to still be a few bigger chunks to give the bites some nice texture.
2 – Add dates and process until the mixture starts to come together into a sticky, loose “dough”.
3 – Add cacao, espresso (if using), vanilla extract, and salt then process again until combined.
4 – Using your hands, roll approx 1 small Tablespoons worth of dough into bite size balls then set aside 6 – If you are going to coat your bliss bites in cacao, or crushed hazelnuts simply place your cacao, and/or crushed hazelnuts into a small bowl or zip lock bag and gentle press/shake until nicely coated. Store in the fridge until ready to serve.
Enjoy xo
- If you find your dates are a little dry you could try soaking them in some warm water for 10 mins before you begin, then drain and rinse and make as normal.
- If you are unable to get skinless hazelnuts simply roast them on a separate tray and once they are roasted, place on a clean dry hand towel and fold it in half. Rub it gently between your hands and the skins should come loose. Once the hazelnuts have shed their skins, discard the skins and proceed with the recipe as normal.
