and boy do I have a killer snack for you today!
Today, sweet invisible internet friend of mine, we are making ourselves some insanely delicious, seriously addicting, all natural, crispy, crunchy, smoky sweet – chilli and lime oven roasted chickpeas.
Crisp, crunchy and seriously spiced on the outside with a slightly soft, buttery centre.
You guys these babies are so unbelievable delicious I can not even tell you.
Our humble chickpeas are coated in a killer savoury spice combination that has a subtle (or not so subtle if your prefer) kick of heat.
We start out by seasoning our beloved chickpeas with a generous pinch of salt and pepper. Then we add in some smoked paprika along with a little garlic and onion powder and a finish things off with a nice little pinch of chilli powder.

Next up we add in a drizzle of coconut oil just to make sure those chickpeas get nice and crispy, but we don’t stop there . . . we also add in a cheeky squeeze of lime juice which gives our roasted chickpeas this slightly sticky, subtly sweet, crispy, crunchy caramelised outer coating that is just to die for!
But wait for it . . .
Once our chickpeas are good and roasted we add a little sprinkling of lime zest which adds this incredible element of freshness to your salty, spicy, crispy, crunchy oven roasted chickpeas that will see you wanting to dive headfirst into the bowl and eat your way out on in for handful, after handful, after handful, after handful.
So much flava flave!!!!!!
And you know what makes them even better – the fact that they are all natural, made with just a handful of ingredients that I bet you have on hand already. Seriously check your pantry people, if you’re anything like me I bet you have a can (or 10) of chickpeas tucked away just begging to be made into a batch of this seriously healthy, insanely delicious, dangerously addicting little snack.
Eat them straight up by the handful, add them to your lunch time wrap, throw them into your dinner salad just because you can.

At school, at work, at play or simply to help get you through the day, you need these chilli and lime roasted chickpeas in your life . . . like yesterday!
Cant stop, won’t stop with the snack, snack, snacking!
All natural, seriously healthy, smoky, sweet, fresh and zesty, crispy, crunchy, caramelised oven roasted chickpeas with a cheeky little kick of heat . . .
You know you want in on this –

Chilli and Lime Oven Roasted Chickpeas
Makes approx 1 heaping cup of crispy, crunchy, zesty, spicy oven roasted chickpeasIngredients –
1 can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed with those manky outer skins removed
1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil, melted and cooled
1/4 teaspoon of ground chilli powder (more or less to taste)
1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon of salt flakes
1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
The juice and zest of 1/2 a lime
Method –
1 – Preheat your oven to 175″C (350″F)
2 – Line a rimmed baking sheet with baking/parchment paper and set aside.
3 – Once you have drained, rinsed and de-skinned your chickpeas – yes removing those manky little outer skins is slightly tedious and you will curse me while your doing it but trust me, totally worth it! Place them onto a sheet of paper towel just to remove any residual moisture to make sure they are nice and dry.
4 – Place your rinsed, dried and peeled chickpeas into a small bowl then squeeze in your lime juice and drizzle over your coconut oil then toss to coat.
5 – Sprinkle in your spices and toss to combine. Make sure each chickpea has a nice little coating if this killer spice mix.
6 – Pour your seasoned chickpeas onto your prepared baking sheet and place in the oven roasting for approx 15-20 mins shaking the tray or stirring your chickpeas around at about the 7 and 12 min mark.
7 – Once your chickpeas are golden and crispy remove from the oven then set aside and allow them to cool for 2-3 mins.
8 – Add your lime zest and toss to combine and then allow your zesty,. spicy roasted to cool completely on the baking sheet.
8 – Store in an airtight container (or ziplock bag) or just grab a handful and go to town, or sprinkle over your fave salad do what you feel people as long as your eating these chickpeas you and your belly will be happy 🙂
