Hey yo are you ready to get your burger on?
I sure hope so because I made you a super yummy burger.
Not just any ol’ run of the mill burger, I made you one insanely delicious quick and easy, healthy, homemade teriyaki turkey burger!
Its succulent, juicy, salty, sweet and out of this world delicious.
It also happens to be secretly healthy think low carb, grain free and paleo friendly and you need in your life, like yesterday.
Seriously you guys these healthy homemade teriyaki turkey burgers really are something else!
They are quick and easy to prepare coming together in less than 30 mins, made with just a handful of ingredients that I bet you have on hand already and something, I guarantee, the whole family will just love, love, love.
You get a touch of sweetness from a splash of pineapple juice and a drizzle of liquid gold also known as maple syrup.
We balance out the sweetness with a little tamari and a couple of cloves of garlic and some freshly grated ginger.
They are a little bit salty, a little bit sweet and all kinds of delicious.
A fun new twist on a family favourite because come on now, who doesn’t love a good burger?!
And let me just tell you, these healthy, homemade teriyaki turkey burgers are an absolute dinner winner!
And that’s just the burgers all on their own, don’t even get me started on the toppings!
The crisp crunch of that shaved purple cabbage, the citrusy-sweet, subtly spicy pineapple-jalapeno’ salsa, the smooth and creamy, deliciously dreamy chunks of avocado, a little extra chilli if your feeling fiesty, a sprinkling of fresh coriander, a cheeky squeeze of lime, all drizzled with some of our thick, rich, smoky, sweet Asian style BBQ sauce and wrapped in a light, fresh, cool, crisp baby coz lettuce leaf!
just you wait . . . I have no words . . . so much flava flave it might just blow your pretty little mind!
FYI – When I say these burgers are succulent and juicy I mean it . . . I’m talking so succulent and so juicy it will be dripping off your chin, running down your arm – just the way a good burger should be!

Healthy, Homemade Teriyaki Turkey Burgers – {Low carb, Grain Free & Paleo Friendly}
Makes approx 6 Light, fresh, crispy, crunchy, salty, sweet, seriously healthy, succulent, juicy, slider size burgers that the whole family will love.Ingredients –
300g Turkey breast mince – aka ground turkey breast (could sub chicken or pork if you prefer)
1 medium size zucchini, grated (approx 1 cup)
1 small red onion, finely chopped
3 cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
1 Tablespoon of maple syrup (can sub honey or a finely chopped medjool if you prefer)
1 Tablespoon of coconut aminos (or tamari or soy sauce if not paleo)
1 Tablespoon of pineapple juice
1 Tablespoon of coconut flour
1 teaspoon of salt flakes
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
Optional but recommended for serving –
Baby cos lettuce
Purple cabbage, finely sliced
Avocado
Fresh chill, finely sliced
Coriander
Method –
1 – Place all your burger ingredients into medium size bowl and stir to combine.
2 – Use your hands to shape the mixture into 6 slider size burger patties (I used approx 1/3 cup measure per burger) and set aside.
3 – Place a fry pan over medium high heat and coat with a little coconut (or olive oil) and cook each burger for 2-3 mins each side. Repeat until all burgers have been cooked.
4 – To serve place each burger into a couple of baby cos lettuce leaves, top with some of your shaved purple cabbage followed by a heaping spoonful of pineapple-jalapeno salsa, a few chunks of creamy, dreamy avocado, a little extra chili a sprinkling of fresh coriander (cilantro) and a good drizzle of BBQ sauce
