MMmmMMm Caramel.
Dulce De Leche . . .
Candy of milk . . .
So decadent.
So indulgent.
So delicious.
so fickle and annoying to make . . .
not any more my friend, not any more.
All you need is a can of sweetened condensed milk, a saucepan full of water and 2 hours to let it do it’s thang.
Take your can of sweetened condensed milk and remove the label.
Place the unopened can in a large saucepan
and fill it with water.
Make sure the can is covered.
Put the lid on the saucepan and bring it to the boil.
Allow to simmer for 2 hours.
Make sure you check it every now and then to make sure the can of condensed milk is completely covered with water and top up if need be. Apparently if the can is not completely covered by water there is a small chance it may explode . . . no biggie. Totally worth the risk 😉
Once the 2 hours has passed. Remove from the heat and allow it to cool completely.
Once cooled, crack that bad boy and enjoy the golden, dreamy, caramel goodness within.
Use it to frost cakes, drizzle over ice cream or eat it by the spoonful.
It will keep for weeks covered in the fridge but I guarantee you it wont last long . . .

How lucky that you can buy the dulce de leche easily and inexpensively where you are Paula 🙂
Unfortunately it’s not something I have seen readily available in and around where I live so for me its totally worth it, especially if it results in more of these yummy macarons 🙂
